Gina Marie Leone, daughter of Mark and Barb Leone of Boardman, and Byron Christopher Velichko, son of Nick and Audrey Velichko of Youngstown, were united in marriage on Aug. 9.

The 2 p.m. ceremony, officiated by Monsignor Michael Cariglio, took place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. A reception followed at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center in Boardman.

The couple traveled to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, for their wedding trip, and they reside in Boardman.

The bride wore a white dress. Jill Jonda, her cousin, served as maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Lisa Poweski and Allison Leone, cousins of the bride; Lindsay Dugan; and Jackie Baker.

The honor attendant wore a coral-colored dress, and bridesmaids wore blue topaz.

Mia Poweski, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.

Best man for his brother was Brian Velichko, and groomsmen were Mark Leone, brother of the bride; Philip Leone, cousin of the bride; Joe Sivulich; and Mike Jones.

The groom’s nephew, Bryson Granchie, was the ring bearer.

Mrs. Velichko graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is employed as a third-grade teacher in Austintown Schools.

Mr. Velichko attended YSU and works as a correctional officer for Corrections Corp. of America in Hubbard.
