A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland Township, Boardman and Girard.

POLAND

Dec. 18

Theft: A 40-inch TV worth $267 was stolen from an apartment in the 2700 block of Center Road.

BOARDMAN

Dec. 24

Domestic violence: Authorities charged 39-year-old Daniel J. Nicoara Jr. of Salinas Trail, Boardman, with the crime after his mother alleged Nicoara had grabbed her neck during an argument, then threatened to kill his father and the accuser.

Domestic violence: Lamont L. Underwood, 56, of Hudson Street, Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant after his girlfriend alleged that during a fight at a Boardman motel, Underwood bit her forehead area and choked her.

Dec. 25

Domestic violence: Kathleen E. Long of Cook Avenue, Boardman, was charged after her boyfriend alleged the 21-year-old Long struck him several times in the head during an argument, apparently related to the way he had cleaned their apartment.

Dec. 26

Theft: Ramon L. Rivera, 18, of Kendall Avenue, Campbell, was charged in the theft of two Sony PlayStation four games valued at $120 from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Assault: Police arrested 54-year-old David M. Philibin at his Glenridge Road residence. The Boardman man was wanted on a Springfield Township warrant.

Arrest: Police responded to a car crash near Applecrest Court, where they charged 32-year-old Curtis J. Elliott of Salinas Trail, Boardman, with operating a vehicle impaired.

Auto theft: A 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera was stolen in the 1300 block of Doral Drive.

Criminal damaging: A woman left a Doral Drive big-box store and noticed someone had damaged her vehicle’s driver’s-side door lock and tumbler.

Theft: Donald B. Bevly, 55, of Porter Avenue, Campbell, was charged with theft, possession of criminal tools and drug paraphernalia after three men’s wristwatches, men’s clothing and a pair of socks were taken from Walmart. Bevly also had a suspected crack-cocaine pipe in a cigarette pack, police said.

Dec. 27

Theft: David W. Buchanan of Callaway Circle, Austintown, faced charges of theft and possession of criminal tools. Buchanan, 41, was accused of stealing a $140 global-positioning-system unit from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road, and removing a security device.

Citation: A traffic stop on U.S. Route 224 resulted in a minor-misdemeanor citation charging 20-year-old Thomas L. Bailey with marijuana possession. Bailey, of Rosewood Avenue, Youngstown, also was wanted on a city warrant charging assault.

Theft: Shaun L. McGee, 34, of Miller Street, Youngstown, was charged in the theft of a $15 necklace from Walmart.

Theft: Police charged 18-year-old Cherye L. Butler of East Boston Avenue, Youngstown, with theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after merchandise, including a shirt and a pair of socks, was taken from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road.

Criminal mischief: Someone in the 100 block of Overhill Road entered and ransacked a vehicle.

Theft: A township woman reported her cellphone stolen while shopping at a Boardman Plaza store on Route 224.

Misuse of a credit card/criminal damaging: A Beloit woman at a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant discovered a short time later that her stolen credit card had been used on three occasions without authorization to rack up roughly $1,450 worth of fraudulent charges. Also, her car’s passenger-side window was shattered.

Theft: Authorities charged 41-year-old Joseph F. Holmes of Detroit Avenue, Youngstown, with stealing wine glasses from Aldi grocery store, 6600 South Ave.

Theft: Donald C. Swanson, 60, of West Myrtle Avenue, Youngstown, was charged. He was accused of stealing a four-pack of clamps valued at $25.48 from Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd.

Theft: A man stole two audio cables from Walmart.

Theft: A woman reported around $4,500 worth of jewelry, including a gold wedding band, stolen from her Lemans Drive apartment.

Dec. 28

Theft: Kayla M. Wisneski, 22, of Martin Road, Enon Valley, Pa., was picked up on a warrant accusing her of stealing about $20 worth of clothing Dec. 3 from Walmart.

Theft: A woman discovered a $200 iPad device missing from her vehicle while at a Doral Drive big-box store.

Arrest: Police pulled over a motorist they said was driving in the wrong direction on Midlothian Boulevard before charging 33-year-old Durrielle D. Frazier of Ferndale Avenue, Youngstown, with operating a vehicle impaired and driving the wrong way on a divided highway.

Theft: Ryan J. Fisher, 19, of Desoto Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with stealing a $170 dehumidifier from Home Depot.

Theft: Police at the Mahoning County jail booked 28-year-old Danielle N. Sutton via phone on a felony-theft charge. Sutton, of Maplewood Court, Youngstown, was accused of stealing a Lowellville woman’s purse June 3 at a South Avenue big-box store.

Theft: A $500 catalytic converter was removed from a truck in the 100 block of Midgewood Drive.

Dec. 29

Arrest: Officers responded to a report of a woman passed out in a car near West Boulevard before charging 35-year-old Michelle L. Kolaskos of Everett Avenue, Youngstown, with operating a vehicle impaired.

Breaking and entering/theft: Someone broke into Advance America Cash Advance, 5963 South Ave., and damaged six air-conditioning and ventilation units on the roof by removing their condenser coils.

Burglary: To a residence in the 7500 block of Glenwood Avenue through a rear door. Roughly 285 feet of copper piping was taken.

Theft: Dallas L. Humphrey Jr., 36, of West Chalmers Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with theft and possession of criminal tools after a Bluetooth headset and three wristwatches were stolen from Walmart. Humphrey, who also was accused of using a pair of scissors to cut the packages, was wanted on a parole-violation charge as well as on a warrant charging larceny.

Theft: A New Galilee, Pa., woman noticed her $670 iPhone missing while at Southern Park Mall.

Breaking and entering: Someone pushed in a basement window, entered a residence in the 7300 block of Westview Drive, and took approximately 180 feet of copper piping valued at $2,500.

Burglary: Took place at an apartment in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court, from which a dolly and a dishwasher were stolen.

Criminal damaging: An Orlo Lane man reported someone had fired seven BBs at his home. Damage was estimated at $550.

Criminal damaging: A car in the 4000 block of Glenwood Avenue was found with a broken driver’s-side window.

Domestic violence: Lewis G. Valentino Jr., 48, of Stadler Avenue, Boardman, faced a felony domestic-violence charge after his wife alleged Valentino had grabbed her arms as she was about to leave the apartment and pushed her against a wall during an ongoing argument, leaving red marks and scratches. The charge was elevated because of two prior convictions, a report showed.

Theft: A woman discovered $1,225 worth of jewelry missing from her Wildwood Drive residence.

Dec. 30

Counterfeit: Police on Market Street pulled over and took into custody Jabre D. Toomer, who listed addresses on Erie Street in Boardman and East Chalmers Avenue in Youngstown. The 22-year-old Toomer was wanted on a misdemeanor criminal-simulation charge after four fake $100 bills had been passed Dec. 22 at Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.

GIRARD

Dec. 22

Bad check: A Pawnee Court man who tried to sell a fireplace for $500 online told authorities he received a $1,950 check in the mail with instructions to cash and return $1,450 of the amount to a Biloxi, Miss., address. The man’s bank informed him it was a fraudulent check, a police report said.

Dec. 23

Harassment: An East Main Street man said a caller made an implied threat after claiming the accuser had stolen drugs from the caller.

Dec. 26

Theft: An East Liberty Street man reported a $180 reindeer decoration stolen from his yard.

Dec. 27

Burglary: Occurred in the 100 block of Stambaugh Street, where a $1,200 TV was stolen.

Burglary: Took place in the 70 block of Morris Avenue after the homeowner noticed a shattered rear window. Two safes containing large sums of money, six wristwatches and a revolver were taken, for an estimated loss of $12,800.
