Kravitz Deli named to top 100 growing companies


The Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Business named the 100 fastest Growing Companies in Northeastern Ohio. Kravitz Delicatessen located in Liberty Township and inside the Poland library was named the 87th on that list. With sales of more than $1.2 million and now employing 25 people, Kravitz has seen growth of 83.78 percent since 2009. The only other Valley company included was Drake Manufacturing, which was ranked 36.

Jack Kravitz, President of Kravitz Delicatessen, attributes the success to expanding its business to the emphasis on food and catering to multi-ethnic organizations, traditional catering, event planning, adding full liquor service to its Belmont location and its expanded use of Social Media. Kravitz Deli is also a kosher caterer and has recently catered a Passover Seder at Adot Sholom in Pittsburgh.

Kravitz has had a record year this year and has been involved in Memorable Meals Mahoning Valley, St Patrick’s Day, Polish Fat Tuesday, the Interfaith Passover Seder, Polish Youngstown Polish Day, Bands at the Baugh, Carols and Cocoa at Stambaugh Auditorium, Sweet Life Cupcake Competition, The Valley Oktoberfest [at Kravitz Deli], Not Your Nonna’s Pasta, Ohio Cultural Alliance [Jewish History and Culture evening], WYSU 50th anniversary, Goodwill Auction [2 years] and the 100th anniversary of Camp Fitch celebration at Tyler Historical.

Awards, honors and activities earned by Kravitz include Memorable Meals Mahoning Valley (helped organize and sponsored), Sweet Life Cupcake (sponsored the Children’s Cupcake Demonstration, second place in cupcake competition), American Legion Riders Club of Columbiana (first place Chili and third place Chili), Not Your Nonna’s Pasta (first place in sauce from local sources, first place in green sauce), Mentioned in the New York Times as part of the growth in the Mahonng Valley economy (pictures in the online addition), Interfaith Passover Seder (organized and sponsored), Oktoberfest Mahoning Valley 2014 (sponsor and organizer) and Cookie Table and Cocktails (second place commercial division cookie competition).
