Ham radio buffs can upgrade licenses
YOUNGSTOWN
The Western Reserve Amateur Radio Club, www.wrarc.net, will conduct classes for the Amateur Extra Class license exam, the highest of three levels of operating privileges.
Morse code is no longer required, but students must have a General Class license.
Classes will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursdays at ITT Tech, 1030 N. Meridian Road, starting Jan. 29. The exam will be administered March 26.
There is no cost for the class, but prospective students must register by Thursday and buy the Amateur Radio Extra Class License book by Gordon West, WB6NOA.
