A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard and Liberty:
HUBBARD
Dec. 22
Arrest: Police took into custody 34-year-old Dominic Mshar at his Stewart Avenue residence. The Hubbard man was wanted on warrants accusing him of failing to appear in court on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and obstructing official business.
Fraud: A Lauretta Lane man found two fraudulent charges to his credit card that totaled about $124.
Arrest: Authorities near Moore Street pulled over and arrested 25-year-old Kirk R. Zents upon learning Zents, of Christian Avenue, Hubbard, was wanted on a warrant charging possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dec. 23
Arrest: A traffic stop near West Liberty Street led to 67-year-old John W. Lacey Jr.’s arrest. Lacey, of Lora Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a Youngstown Municipal Court bench warrant charging criminal trespassing.
Harassment: A Jackson Street man said a juvenile has been harassing his 15-year-old daughter via Facebook.
Dec. 24
Arrest: Police responding to a vehicular accident near Myron and North Main streets charged Jeffrey A. Morgan, 61, of Wheeler Street, Hubbard, with operating a vehicle impaired after saying his blood-alcohol count was 0.187, more than twice the legal limit.
Fraud: An elderly Rebecca Avenue woman reported a man called from Jamaica, N.Y., claiming she had won a large sweepstakes drawing but first needed to buy a $145 money card at a local drug store.
Harassment: An East Liberty Street woman told officers a caller claiming to be an attorney said he intended to take her to court and that the accuser would lose custody of her children if she failed to allow another person to have them for a week.
Domestic violence: Adrienne C. Kinnick, 31, of Meadowland Drive, Hubbard, was charged with the crime after her father alleged Kinnick had threatened to kill him with a knife as she demanded money.
Dec. 25
Burglary: To a home in the 60 block of Christian Avenue via a rear door. More than $3,560 worth of property, including numerous firearms, was stolen.
Dec. 26
Arrest: Raymond J. Stiftinger, 72, of Westview Avenue, Hubbard, was charged with operating a vehicle impaired and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle after having been pulled over near Youngstown-Hubbard Road. Stiftinger’s blood-alcohol count was 0.133, a report showed.
Theft: A woman reported a $30 Christmas decoration stolen from her residence in the 200 block of Fifth Avenue.
Theft: A man reportedly stole a candle from Family Dollar, 437 E. Liberty St.
LIBERTY
Dec. 22
Arrest: Adam A. Perkins, 20, of Logan Arms Drive, Liberty, was booked at the Mahoning County jail on a township warrant.
Theft: Someone in the 60 block of Redfern Drive cut and stole the catalytic converter and the exhaust lines from a Jeep.
Arrest: Police at the Mahoning County jail picked up 44-year-old Samuel Childs of Almyra Road, Youngstown, who was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court on two theft counts.
Breaking and entering: Copper piping was stolen from the basement during a break-in at a home in the 800 block of Mansell Drive.
Dec. 23
Arrest: Officers answered a disturbance call on Ventura Drive, where they took 42-year-old Jermaine M. Brown of Third Street Southwest, Warren, into custody. Brown was wanted on an Ohio State Highway Patrol warrant.
Theft: A $400 catalytic converter was removed from a vehicle in the 200 block of East Montrose Street.
Citations: Officers responding to an animal complaint in the 500 block of Ventura Drive issued minor-misdemeanor citations charging 25-year-old Justin Griffin of Ventura, Liberty, with obstructing official business and having a loose dog. Griffin became belligerent with police and refused to come out of his residence, they said.
Misuse of a credit card: A Niles man alleged that the boyfriend of his deceased mother, formerly of Oriel-Rogers Road, has been using her debit card to deplete funds from an account. He also failed to return the woman’s vehicle title and keys, the son reported.
Dec. 26
Drugs: Officers answered a theft call at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, where they charged Robert P. Martin, 25, of Brent Road, Grove City, Pa., with possession of marijuana and drug-abuse instruments, along with 28-year-old Matthew M. Beiter of Meadville, Pa., with possession of drug paraphernalia. A hypodermic needle, suspected marijuana and a spoon for heroin use were found, a report stated.
Dec. 27
Arrest: Keyosha Shaw, 20, of New York Avenue, Youngstown, was taken into custody at the Mahoning County jail on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Arrest: Police in the 2400 block of Belmont Avenue picked up 39-year-old Jesse P. Franklin of Northgate Road, Liberty. He was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Dec. 28
Trespassing: Officers responded to a complaint of someone panhandling at a Belmont Avenue gas station, then charged Eric J. Wallace of Cohasset Drive, Youngstown, with criminal trespassing. The 26-year-old Wallace had been told to stay off the property, a report showed.
Theft: A disc jockey at a Belmont Avenue restaurant reported a turntable, four wireless microphones and other items missing from his truck. The loss came to about $1,750.
Dec. 29
Criminal damaging: A man returned to his Academy Drive home and saw that someone had bent and damaged a flagpole on his front porch.
