“Community Connection” (Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on 21 WFMJ-TV and 11 a.m. on WBCB-TV): Mercy Health, formerly Humility of Mary, offers educational health programs to the community. Janet Aliss, diabetes educator and dietician, will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the growing number of people diagnosed with diabetes here in the Valley, blood sugar levels, and making sense of blood-sugar results.

Next, Hospice of the Valley has launched a new grief program on pet loss. Kim Calhoun, grief coordinator, will explain the program.

“Increase the Peace” (today at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on MyYTV): Show host Andrea Mahone’s guests will be Dr. Rosie Thompson, Shailyla Hakeem and Lance Gatti from the Minnie B. Thompson Foundation. The foundation’s annual gala and fundraiser will award educational grants to area students.

Cosby lawyers: Toss lawsuit

BOSTON

Bill Cosby’s lawyers asked a federal judge on Friday to throw out a defamation lawsuit filed by three women accusing the comedian of decades-old sexual offenses. The women, all of whom have stepped forward in recent years, say Cosby’s representatives publicly branded them as liars while trying to defend Cosby’s innocence. But Cosby’s lawyers say the actor was merely acting in self-defense as his character was under attack.
