Historical bank will be renovated
Historical bank will be renovated
CAMPBELL
At 2 p.m. Sunday, area photographers, videographers and artists will gather at the historical City Savings and Loan Bank building on Wilson Avenue to visually document the building in its abandoned state before restoration begins.
The 1917 bank building was one of the first banks in the city of Campbell, serving mostly the steelmaking community.
Ted Perantinides donated the building to Iron Soup Historical Preservation Co., a local nonprofit organization that specializes in historical preservation of the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. homes, also in Campbell.
The building will serve as a community gathering place where fundraising activities will be hosted to further Iron Soup’s efforts in the company homes.
