CANFIELD

Gina and Joseph Popovich of Canfield are announcing the engagement of their son, Nicholas Popovich, and Taylor Halko, both of Phoenix.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Kimberly and Phil Gawron and Robert Halko of Portage, Ind.

The couple are planning their wedding for 1:30 p.m. July 11 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Chesterton, Ind. Invitations will be issued for the ceremony and for a reception to follow at Blue Chip Resort in Michigan City, Ind.

The bride-elect earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Purdue University. She is employed at Legacy Traditional School, Casa Grande, Ariz., as a first-grade teacher.

The prospective groom earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Westminster College. He is employed as a sixth-to-eighth-grade music educator in Cartwright School District, Phoenix.
