CAMPBELL

Police arrested Troy Wyant, 34, of Lowellville on misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug possession.

Police said Wyant was speeding in his vehicle on state Route 616, resulting in a traffic stop Wednesday evening.

A police officer smelled marijuana coming from the car, which Wyant admitted he had. Police retrieved 5.8 grams of suspected marijuana in a small plastic bag. Wyant was released with a summons to appear in municipal court.

Student reports unidentified driver

CAMPBELL

A Campbell Memorial High School student reported she was offered a ride by an unidentified man on her way to school Thursday morning.

The student told the school resource officer that she declined the offer, which occurred near Tremble and Bright avenues.

She described him as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and skinny. He was wearing a tan jacket, tan pants and glasses. He was driving a four-door vehicle. Police were unable to locate him.

Assault, menacing

AUSTINTOWN

Township police arrested a woman after they said she threatened her daughter’s boyfriend with a shotgun late Wednesday.

Rita Fuscoe, 47, of Pine-ridge Court, faces charges of felonious assault and misdemeanor aggravated menacing after an incident at her residence.

According to a police report, her 20-year-old daughter was with her boyfriend in the home’s basement. The boyfriend told police Fuscoe came downstairs and told him he had five minutes to get out of the house or she would kill him. Fuscoe is then said to have returned with a loaded shotgun, pointed it at his chest and then hit him on the side of his face.

Appointment OK’d

COLUMBUS

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted has affirmed the appointment of Kenneth J. Kubala, 54, of Howland as a member of the Trumbull County Board of Elections. Kubala will fill the unexpired term of Niles Mayor Ralph Infante, who resigned to run for re-election as mayor. Kubala was recommended by the Trumbull County Democratic Party.
