The Missions Committee of Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, will host a chili cook-off at 5 p.m. Saturday. The wrong location was given in Wednesday’s Food Sales listing.

Charity Lodge plans wild game dinner

DEERFIELD

Brethren for Charity Lodge 530, F&AM, are preparing for the eighth annual Wild Game Dinner on Saturday at the Deerfield Town Hall, 1450 state Route 14.

There will be two seatings of 200 people at a time. The first will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m., and the second will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Reservations are mandatory and can be made by calling Ralph Coss at 330-607-2442 or Roy Wilson at 330-947-3392.

The cost is $15 per person and free for children 5 and under. Entrees (based on availability) are wild boar, turkey, alligator, fish, venison, buffalo, elk or moose, bear and rabbit, which will be served with baked potatoes, green beans, bread and butter, dessert and a beverage.

Jaquel Seay wins Easter poster contest

WARREN

Jaquel Seay of Warren won the poster contest for the City of Warren’s Easter Egg Hunt. His artwork will be featured on posters and fliers announcing the event.

Jaquel, 10, is the son of Precious Seay of Warren and is a 5th-grade student at McGuffey K-8 School.

He will be presented with a certificate and have his picture taken today with Mayor William Franklin. Jaquel also will be treated to lunch.

Jaquel’s entry was selected from entries by Willard, Jefferson, Lincoln and McGuffey students in grades 3 through 5.

The Easter Egg Hunt takes place at noon April 4 on the lawn of city hall. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., and the hunt starts at 12:15 p.m. It will feature a petting zoo, photos with the Easter Bunny (take your own camera), and arts and crafts for kids 10 and under. This is a free event courtesy of the City of Warren.
