ASSOCIATIONS

Goldwing Road Riders Association Ohio Chapter M will be having its monthly gathering Saturday at Yankee Kitchen Restaurant, 6635 Market St., Boardman. Dinner will begin at 5 p.m., and the gathering starts at 6. All motorcycle riders are welcome.

Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will announce the Woman of the Year at its next monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. March 10 at Caffe Capri, 8000 Market St., Boardman. Guest speaker will be Thomas Welsh, public historian and co-author of “Classic Restaurants of Youngstown.” The cost is $21 per person. The menu consists of salad, stuffed chicken breast, Italian vegetables, bread, coffee or tea, and dessert. Guests are welcome. Tri-Gold Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet March 11 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. A social will begin at 5:30 p.m., and dinner at 6. The price is $19. A buffet will consist of baked white fish, stuffed shells, Swiss chicken, sandtrap potatoes, California blend vegetables, tossed salad, relish tray, rolls and butter, coffee or tea. Dessert is pistachio delight. Ken David will speak about “The American Veteran.” The crowning of the chapter’s 2015-16 Woman of the Year will take place. CLUBS

American Association of University Women will meet at 10 a.m. March 7 at in the gathering room of Park Vista, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of the Poland Library will meet Tuesday. Coffee hour will begin at 9:30 a.m., meeting at 10, with a business meeting to follow. Traci Manning of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society will speak about “Uncaged, Extraordinary Women of the American Civil War.” Hostesses for the coffee hour will be Emma Eggleston, Joan Reid, Carol McCoy and Susan Beil. Donations of books, magazines, CDs and DVDs are accepted for the book cart. Meetings are open to the public. New members are welcome; dues are $10 per year.

POLITICAL GROUPS

Community Christian Women will meet at the Upper Room Fellowship at 12:30 p.m. March 9 in Columbiana. Mara Bochart of Copley will present “Shine Living,” artwork that shines for his glory. Girard Knights of Columbus Ladies, Council No. 2935, will have a Night of Recollection at the 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Mass at St. Rose Church. The Mass will be delivered for living and deceased members of the auxiliary. Afterward a covered dish dinner will take place in Rosetta Hall for members and guests. Chairwomen are Theresa Norton and Norma Lucas. The meat and pasta will be furnished by the auxiliary, and the telephone committee will be calling members for covered dishes. Members are asked to take shawls and blankets, which will be blessed at the Mass to give to those in need of comfort.
