Police have issued a warrant for a suspect in the Tuesday morning robbery of a 2900 Market St. bank.

Investigators are looking for Jayquawn Manigault, 21, who is accused of robbing the Chase Bank about 9 a.m.

Reports said a person entered the bank and demanded money while displaying a gun he had in a holster on his hip, then ran away. He did get some money. No one was harmed.

Mahoning County Common Pleas Court records show an address of East Avondale Avenue for Manigault, who has a pending aggravated-burglary charge in that court.

Spill closes road

AUSTINTOWN

A spill closed lanes on state Route 46 at the Interstate 80 exchange near midday Wednesday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said a truck traveling southbound on Route 46 approaching Webb Road braked for a traffic signal, causing its nonhazardous contents to shift and spill on the roadway. That was about 3,000 gallons of “nonhazardous processed sewage onto the road” at 11:33 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials from the patrol’s Canfield Post responded as well as Austintown Fire Department and the Ohio Department of Transportation. Traffic was limited to the right lane for southbound traffic while crews cleaned the center lane Wednesday. The OSHP said crews finished cleaning at 2:19 p.m. Wednesday.

Whitted is free on bond pending an appearance in Mahoning County Area Court here.

Sentenced for theft

A Warren man is serving a 90-day jail sentence after he pleaded no contest and was found guilty of committing or attempting to commit multiple thefts.

Jason Escue, 35, was booked into the Mahoning Count jail on four misdemeanor theft charges Tuesday and appeared in Mahoning County Area Court where he entered his plea.

Township police said that in November, Escue took, or attempted to take, merchandise, mostly televisions, from four area businesses.

According to police reports, Escue took or tried to take items from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive; HH Gregg, 441 Boardman-Poland Road; Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road; and Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road, over the course of a few days. Escue also was sentenced to one year’s probation after his release from jail.
