AUSTINTOWN

Police said Jermaine Donlow, 42, of Youngstown, faces several charges for his purported involvement in a chase that ended in a crash at a township bakery outlet’s parking lot.

Donlow is charged with violating a protection order with a prior conviction, a fifth-degree felony, and failure to comply, a third-degree felony. He was arraigned Wednesday morning in Mahoning County Area Court here and his bond was set at $50,000. He was arrested Tuesday.

He pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor traffic charges of driving under suspension, failure to control and traffic control lights. His traffic trial is Wednesday, the same day as his pretrial date for the other charges.

According to a police report, Donlow’s estranged wife called Austintown police after she saw him following her Tuesday. Police saw him following in a vehicle after she pulled into a gas station to talk with police, and authorities pursued him.

The chase was stopped after he was driving between 70 and 80 miles per hour on Norquest Boulevard and weaving through traffic and headed toward Youngstown on Mahoning Avenue.

Officers, however, were able to apprehend him after he struck a vehicle in the parking lot of Schwebel’s Bakery outlet store, 3800 Mahoning Ave.
