Reports said a man who saw police Tuesday afternoon got so panicked he backed into a parked vehicle, ran and then refused to be handcuffed or have his picture taken when he was caught.

Officers on patrol on the West Side spotted a car driven by Daniel Hunt, 30, about 7:20 p.m. in the parking lot of a 1500 Mahoning Avenue gas station, and when Hunt saw police, he tried to pull away but instead hit a pickup truck, reports said.

Hunt was caught after running a short distance but he refused to allow himself to be handcuffed and had to be taken to the ground, reports said. He also cursed officers and complained of head pain, reports said.

Officers tried to take pictures of his injuries, but Hunt refused to allow them to, reports said. He is charged with driving under suspension, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. He was taken to the Mahoning County jail.
