Sue Tofil of Campbell is the winner of The Vindicator’s Best of Film Contest.

The annual contest gives readers a chance to test their movie knowledge by predicting Oscar Award winners in 20 top categories.

Tofil correctly picked 16 categories and has won a $200 gift card from Rulli Bros. Supermarkets.

The former store clerk actually was in a three-way tie at 16 correct answers. The first-, second- and third-place winners were determined by a random drawing, in accordance with contest rules.

Second place went to Bill Baker of Canfield, who won a $100 gift card from Rulli’s. Lisa Tofil of Strongsville, who is the daughter of the first-place winner, took third place, earning a $50 Rulli’s gift card.

A total of 211 entries were received for the contest. In addition to the three who correctly picked 16 categories, there were three who correctly picked 15. All other entries correctly picked 14 or fewer.

Sue Tofil said she watched about half of the nominated movies. She has played The Vindicator contest for the past 10 years and had never won before, although last year she came close, picking 18 correctly. But a handful of contestants did even better.

Tofil said her favorite movie of 2014 wasn’t nominated for Best Picture. It was “Jersey Boys,” the film based on the smash Broadway musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It was directed by Clint Eastwood.
