$4,000 damage in kitchen grease fire

YOUNGSTOWN — A cooking fire about 4:20 p.m. Wednesday at a 702 E. Lucius Ave. home caused about $4,000 damage.

When firefighters arrived, the homeowner greeted them outside and told them she was heating grease to cook french fries when the grease caught fire. Reports said the fire got above the ceiling and climbed into the rafters before it could be put out.

No one was injured.
