Warren man gets jail time for thefts in Boardman

BOARDMAN — A Warren man is serving a 90-day jail sentence after he pleaded no contest and was found guilty of committing or attempting to commit multiple thefts from township businesses.

Jason Escue, 35, was booked into Mahoning Count jail on four misdemeanor theft charges Tuesday, and appeared in Mahoning County Area Court here, where he entered his plea.

Township police say in November, Escue took, or attempted to take, merchandise, mostly televisions, from four different area businesses.

According to police reports, Escue took or tried to take items from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive; HH Gregg, 441 Boardman-Poland Road; Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road; and Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road, over the course of a few days.

Escue also was sentenced to a one-year probation after his release from jail.
