v The Italian Americans”: Even before this acclaimed historical profile is done on TV, it’s out on DVD, charting the impact of immigration from Italy on our wider culture, through big names (Rudolph Valentino, Mario Cuomo, Tony Bennett, David Chase) and commonplace tales; $30 for two discs, PBS.

v “The Sixties — The Decade that Changed the World”: Tom Hanks’ acclaimed 10-episode CNN docuseries covers Kennedy, The Beatles, civil rights, Vietnam, the space race and more; $70 for three discs, PBS.

v “Sons of Anarchy” (season 7): Explosive final episodes of FX’s brutal California crime saga, with bonus features covering the end, the ink, the bikes; $50 DVD/$60 Blu-ray, Fox.

v “The Book of Negroes”: The mini-series on BET will be available on DVD April 7.

“Survivor” (8 p.m., CBS): Believe it or not, “Survivor” is entering its 30th season. This one — “Survivor: Worlds Apart” — has 18 new castaways being divided by their occupations (White Collar, Blue Collar, No Collar).

“The Mysteries of Laura” (8 p.m., NBC): On “The Mysteries of Laura,” Debra Messing is reunited with her old “Will & Grace” bestie, Eric McCormack, who drops by for a guest stint. He plays Laura’s ex- fiance — and a suspect in her latest murder case.

“Modern Family” (9 p.m., ABC): Much of tonight’s episode was shot on iPhones, iPads and MacBooks, which is probably where a lot of it will be watched.

“The Amazing Race” (9:30 P.M., CBS): Season 26 takes off with 11 dating couples. Contestants include Niles native Hayley Keel.

Theater extends run of ‘Shrek’ musical

Crown Theater Productions has extended its run of “Shrek, The Musical” at Main Street Theater, 5 N. Main St., by adding two performances on Sunday, at 2 and 7 p.m. For tickets, go to crowntheaterproductions.org.

Music at Noon at the Butler

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University Dana School of Music will present two free Music at Noon series performances in March at the Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Ave.

The Dana percussion ensemble will perform at 12:15 p.m. March 4. The Dana brass chamber ensemble will perform at 12:15 p.m. March 18.

Home, garden show at the Expo Center

NILES

The Nature Stone Mahoning Valley Home and Garden Show will return to the Eastwood Expo Center, next to Eastwood Mall, this weekend. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission and parking are free.

The show will feature more than 140 exhibits of new items for homes.
