Poland school board approves 2015-16 school calendar

POLAND — The board of education approved a new school calendar for the 2015-16 school year that puts students back in school earlier than usual.

Although Poland schools usually start after Labor Day, district officials decided to push the start date up to Aug. 26 to better accommodate the state testing schedule and to make sure that snow days don’t push the end of the school year back into the third week of June.

The last day of school for the 2015-16 school year is set for June 3.
