Pa. state police investigating Lawrence County fatal accident


NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police at New Castle said an unidentified man was killed in a one-vehicle accident about 8:50 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 551 in Little Beaver Township.

A news release said the driver was traveling south on state Route 551 at a high rate of speed when he lost control, went off the road, hit a utility pole and rolled over and flipped in the air and hit a tree before landing on its roof, blocking both lanes of traffic.

The release said the driver was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing his seat belt.

His identity is being withheld until his relatives can be notified, the release said.
