OSHP: Cleanup continues on state Route 46/I-80 interchange in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN — Traffic is moving slowly while crews clean up a spill at the state Route 46/Interstate 80 interchange that happened late this morning this, said an official with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

There was a spill from a commercial waste-hauling vehicle that has closed some lanes at that intersection. The call came in to Austintown police at 11:58 a.m.

State troopers asked motorists to avoid the area if possible until the cleanup is done.

Westbound traffic on Route 46 is limited to the right lane only while eastbound traffic is not restricted.

Cleanup crews laid down a substance on wet pavement from the spill late. Troopers, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and Austintown firefighters were working in the center lane on the cleanup.

Traffic for the exit onto Route 46 from I-80 was backed up on the exit ramp.
