Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown, will offer Lenten service opportunities Wednesdays at 12:30 and 6:30 p.m. Church women will provide a light beef vegetable soup lunch after the 12:30 service. A free will offering will be taken. Takeout is available for $6 per quart of soup.

Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $7.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

FRIDAY

American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will serve all-you-can-eat fish dinners from 3 to 7 p.m. Fridays through April 3. The meals are $9.50. Chicken and shrimp dinners are available for $8.50, and fish sandwiches are $6.50.

Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish. The cost is $11.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. A limited supply of frozen pirogi will be available. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge, will serve Lenten dinners on Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m. The prices are $9 for adults, $4.50 for children 4 to 12 and free for kids under 4. Carryouts are available.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will take orders each week for potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, will serve Lenten fish dinners from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The meals include fried shrimp, fried or baked fish. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children.

There will be a choice of beer batter, fried, baked or Cajun-style fish with sides. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. An extra piece of fish is $5, and extra sides are $3. St. Nicholas Mom’s and Dad’s Club will have a fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. every Friday during Lent at the St. Nicholas Great Hall, 766 Fifth St., Struthers. Choose baked or fried haddock with sides. The meal is $10 for adults, $6 for children 6 to 12 and free for kids 5 and under. Takeout is available.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.

St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will have fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Fridays in Lent except for Good Friday. Takeouts begin at 3 p.m. The menu includes baked or fried Atlantic whitefish with sides.The cost is $9.50 for adults, $4.50 for children 5 to 12 and free for kids 4 and younger.

St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 1 Lucymont Drive, New Castle, Pa., will have Lenten fish fries from 11 a.m to 6 p.m. every Friday except for Good Friday in the parish hall. A baked or fried fish sandwich is $8, baked or fried dinner with two sides is $10, a shrimp basket with two sides is $10, and a child’s dinner with one side is $5. Canfield United Methodist Church, 4580 Western Reserve Road, will host a chili cook-off at 5 p.m. The church’s Mission Committee is organizing the event, which will include a variety of chillies, hot dogs and other snacks. Burton-Middlefield Rotary will host pancake breakfast during March from 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Berkshire High School, 14510 N. Cheshire St., Burton. Breakfast is $8 for adults and $5 for children 4 to 10. Customers also may purchase omelets. All proceeds will be divided between the community and the fight against polio.

Southington American Legion Post will host a pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the post home, 3145 Warren-Burton Road. The cost is $6.50 for adults, $4 for children under 12 and free for kids 4 and under. The menu includes pancakes and sausage or biscuits and gravy. Pancakes are all you can eat.

St. James the Apostle Church, Route 422, Pulaski, Pa., will serve its breakfast-brunch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, has scheduled the fifth of its monthly Sauce and Song series. The spaghetti dinner will be served in the social hall from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The prices are $8 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under, and proceeds will benefit Beatitude House and the Dorothy Day House of Hospitality. Carryouts are available, and containers will be provided. Bell choirs from churches in the Mahoning Valley will perform a Festival of Bells from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the church. Holy Apostles Parish, St. Stephen of Hungary Church and Sts. Peter & Paul Croatian Church are taking orders for Easter kolbasi and Italian sausage until March 22. Saxon Culture Group is taking orders for 3- and 5-pound packages of large links in mild, hot and Saxon-recipe garlic flavors and 5-pound packages of bulk in all flavors. The cost is $3.50 per pound. UPCOMING

Austintown Council of PTAs and the Fitch Art Department will present the 7th annual Souper Supper event from 5 to 7 p.m. March 4 in the Fitch High School cafeteria, 4560 Falcon Drive. The cost is $7 and includes a handmade ceramic bowl from students and alumni that you get to keep. There also will be musical entertainment from the seventh- and eighth-grade choir, AMS Jazz Band and Fitch Orchestra. Also featured will be a 50-50 and a basket raffle. All proceeds will go to benefit needy families of students of the Austintown Local School District.
