Elm Street Cafe will host Youngstown Food Swap
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
Lake-to-river Food Hub will present the first Youngstown Food Swap from 2 to 3:30 p.m. March 15 at the Elm Street Cafe, 901 Elm St.
You can take anything that you make or grow and swap it for something else.
This might include: homemade candy, granola, jam, knitted scarves, soup, garden salsa, flavored popcorn, cakes, etc.
Try out a new recipe or share your favorite dish. The more items you take, the more you can swap.
Each swapping item should be valued around $5 so that swaps are even. No money will change hands; everything is traded.
This is a free event but you must register by contacting swilhel2@kent.edu. You must provide your name and items you are taking.
Package items however you would like in jars, boxes, bags, etc. Just make sure to include your name, contact information and ingredients somewhere on each item.
You can take a few different things or multiples of the same product. Please be sure to take some extra to set out as samples. Sample cups will be provided.
This social event is a networking opportunity.
