Two face charges of drug deception at Liberty pharmacy
GIRARD — A Boardman man and Youngstown woman were arraigned last week on drug charges after a Liberty pharmacy reported a woman identifying herself as a nurse called to order a prescription for a patient.
Rite Aid personnel told Liberty police it would be unusual for a nurse to call to deliver a prescription, so they checked with University Hospital in Cleveland, where the woman said she worked, and the hospital didn’t know the nurse or the doctor she said had ordered the medication and did not have a patient with the name the nurse had given.
The store also advised police that another Belmont Avenue pharmacy received a similar call.
Three people arrived at the pickup window at Rite Aid at 4:25 p.m. Thursday, and police questioned them.
Dwayne D. Gray, 31, of Boardman, and Timesha L. Franklin, 31, of Delason Avenue in Youngstown, are charged with felony deception to obtain a dangerous drug.
Both were arraigned in Girard Municipal Court on Friday and released after posting bond. There was no mention on the report about the third person.
