Man arrested after shoving Youngstown police officer

YOUNGSTOWN — A man who reports said shoved a police officer about 10:40 p.m. Sunday on the West Side is charged with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct.

Reports said officers were called to the 2800 block of Eddie Street for a report that a man was staggering around with a gunshot wound.

When they arrived, they found 34-year-old Frank Hosey of Austintown clutching his waist and when officers asked if he needed help he ran away.

Reports said an officer chased him and Hosey spun around and shoved the officer. He was ordered to the ground at gunpoint, reports said.

Reports said Hosey smelled strongly of alcohol and no injuries could be found. He was taken to the Mahoning County jail.
