First meeting of mergered Mahoning County boards is today


YOUNGSTOWN — The first meeting of Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board, the single entity resulting from the merger of the Mahoning County Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Addiction boards, is at 5:30 p.m. today in the Ohio One Building auditorium.

The 18-member Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board, 10 appointed by Mahoning County commissioners and eight by the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services, is expected to elect officers and name an executive director.

Duane Piccirilli was executive director of the mental health board and Brenda Heidinger was executive director of the Mahoning County Alcohol & Drug Addiction Services.

The MCMHRB is also expected to discuss where the new board will meet and where its offices will be located.

The county ADAS is at 107 S. Champion St. and the mental health board at 25 E. Boardman St. in the Ohio One Building. Both are in downtown Youngstown.
