A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

Feb. 10

Theft: Numerous pieces of jewelry, including a $2,900 pendant, were missing from a residence in the 8500 block of Four Seasons Trail.

Identity fraud: An elderly East Western Reserve Road man noticed a $350 fraudulent charge on his debit-card statement.

Feb. 12

Misuse of a credit card: A Howell Drive woman found out her debit card had been used without permission.

Feb. 13

Menacing: A Renwick Drive woman said she had been threatened.

Feb. 15

Menacing: A 17-year-old township girl reported being stalked.

BOARDMAN

Feb. 11

Identity theft: A Glenwood Avenue woman told officers she received a letter from the Ohio Department of Taxation stating someone had fraudulently filed an income-tax return in her name.

Identity theft: An Afton Avenue man discovered his personal information had been used to file income taxes.

Menacing: A Sigle Lane man alleged that his son-in-law had threatened to possibly harm him.

Domestic violence: Sharon A. Klemm of Cook Avenue, Boardman, was charged with domestic violence and obstructing official business after her husband alleged the 41-year-old Klemm had pushed him to the ground, then kicked and punched the accuser’s abdomen, neck, arms and head during an argument.

Employee theft: Michele M. Barnett, 45, of Fairmeadow Drive, Austintown, was charged after an official with Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, 385 Boardman-Canfield Road, alleged Barnett admitted having stolen $25 from the business.

Harassment: An East Huntington Drive woman said she has received the latest in a series of such calls and text messages.

Identity theft: A man alleged his former girlfriend changed the address of his Boardman-Canfield Road business via the United States Postal Service without his knowledge or consent.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 8100 block of Stadler Avenue. Taken was a 70-inch flat-screen TV.

Theft: A man stole about $694 worth of clothing from Victoria Secret’s Pink in Southern Park Mall.

Drugs: Acting on a search warrant, authorities reported finding plastic bags of suspected crack cocaine, marijuana and heroin, as well as a digital scale and other contraband in an Applecrest Court apartment. No arrests had been made at the time of the report, however.

Theft: London D. Buchanon, 23, of Bedford Heights, Ohio, faced charges of theft and obstructing official business after a $99 pair of pants was stolen from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road. Buchanon also provided a false name and age, police said.

Theft: Someone stole a large quantity of prescription medications from a container at Youngstown Orthopedic Associates, 1499 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Menacing: A Glendale Avenue woman told police her former boyfriend has made unwanted calls to her. The accuser also reported he continues to stalk her while she’s home and at work.

Feb. 12

Arrest: A traffic stop on Market Street resulted in the arrest of 23-year-old Breawna L. Lyons of Hermitage, Pa., who was wanted on a Trumbull County warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Identity theft: A worker for a Southern Park Mall store reported one of her two stolen credit cards had been used to make $478 worth of unauthorized charges.

Vandalism: A guest who stayed at a South Avenue motel reportedly punched a hole and damaged a portion of drywall in a restroom. The damage estimate was $300.

Felonious assault: Police responded to a possible carjacking in the 5100 block of Market Street before charging 47-year-old Umar B. Kamara with one count each of felonious assault and simple assault. An Austintown woman alleged the Akron man had punched her face and dragged her by his vehicle, causing injuries to her legs and mouth, during an argument in which Kamara apparently had expressed a desire to rekindle their relationship.

Animal cruelty: Police received a complaint alleging that several birds at a Market Street business were being neglected.

Assault: Brian K. Hunter, 42, of East Boston Avenue, Youngstown, surrendered on charges of assault and criminal damaging after a Jan. 28 incident at a Southern Boulevard tire company in which two employees reported an irate customer claiming he was owed money had struck one of them in the knee with Hunter’s front bumper and tossed a plastic crate, shattering the other’s windshield.

Arrest: Jasmine R. Howell, 25, of Applecrest Court, Boardman, surrendered on charges of permitting drug abuse and child endangerment, a felony and a misdemeanor, respectively.

Drugs: Police responded to a shoplifting situation at Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive, before pulling over Denzel N. Case, 20, of Colby Avenue, Youngstown, on a theft warrant and charging him with one felony count of trafficking in drugs. Case had a bag of suspected marijuana containing nine smaller bags of the drug, a report showed.

Feb. 13

Assault: Police picked up 32-year-old Stephanie L. Shaffer at the Columbiana County jail on an assault charge related to a May 1, 2012, incident in which a Melbourne Avenue woman alleged Shaffer, of Creek Road, New Waterford, had pushed and struck her during an argument about a car.

Theft: Glen Chatmon, 46, of Cleveland was taken into custody at the Cuyahoga County jail on a felony theft charge. Chatmon was accused of stealing about $1,140 worth of clothing Jan. 18 from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall.

Theft by deception: A township man told officers he had paid $800 to a Boardman-Canfield Road business for a set of weights that never arrived and that the business refused to return his money.

Theft: A Baymar Avenue man noticed a global-positioning-system unit, a $1,500 set of golf clubs and $20 missing from his vehicle.

Harassment: A Pearson Circle man said he received numerous such calls, possibly as part of a scam.

Theft: A woman reported having discovered 77 over-the-counter pills missing from her Bonnie Place apartment.

Theft: A Campbell woman told police a man she knows stole her cellphone, car keys and other items while at Southern Park Mall.

Menacing: A Cook Avenue man reported a caller threatened to send someone to his apartment to harm the accuser after saying he had stolen a handgun and a stereo from a business.

Feb. 14

Arrest: Police responded to a vehicular crash on Wolosyn Circle, where they charged 29-year-old Douglas P. Ochs of Klines Drive, Girard, with operating a vehicle impaired.

Aggravated menacing: A St. Albans Drive woman told authorities her daughter’s former boyfriend called at least 50 times and came to the accuser’s home demanding to know where the daughter was.

Stolen property: While answering a theft call at Spencer Gifts in Southern Park Mall, authorities charged 42-year-old Jacqueline E. Guzman with one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property. Guzman, of Idlewood Avenue, Youngstown, had 18 stolen items in a backpack, a report said.

Theft: Three cameras, a wallet and a pair of sunglasses were among items taken from a car in the 4200 block of Oak Knoll Drive.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a home in the 100 block of Prestwick Drive and removed 40 feet of copper worth $300.

Domestic violence: Daniyal Mir, 28, of Jasper Court, Boardman, faced one felony domestic-violence charge and two counts of making such threats after his father alleged that during an argument, Mir had pushed and shoved him; both of Mir’s parents further alleged he had repeatedly threatened to kill them. The charge was elevated because of a prior conviction, a report stated.

Possible child endangerment: A 4-year-old boy alleged that while at a Shields Road apartment, someone used duct tape to tape his arms to his sides, apparently after saying the child had been misbehaving.

Harassment: A Southern Boulevard woman who works for a car dealership told officers she received 50 to 60 unwanted calls after having repossessed a vehicle.

Harassment: A Crystal Drive woman reported her former boyfriend sent threatening text messages against her husband.

Feb. 15

Arrest: Police took into custody 50-year-old James S. Young of Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman. He was wanted on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court on a charge of operating a vehicle impaired.

Criminal damaging: An employee with a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant saw that his vehicle’s driver’s-side window had been knocked out. Damage came to $500.

Harassment: A manager for a Boardman-Poland Road eatery reported an irate customer had made at least 12 unwanted calls, including demands for a new meal, which disrupted the business’s operations.

Identity theft: A Glenwood Avenue woman found $1,500 worth of fraudulent charges on her credit-card statement.

Theft: Two women reportedly stole two women’s accessories from Gabriel Bros.

Theft: Sean P. Hilbert, 23, of Canfield Road, Youngstown, was charged with theft and possession of criminal tools after three video-game discs and related items were stolen from Walmart. Hilbert also used a pair of scissors to cut the packaging, a report showed.

Domestic violence: Leon A. Williams, 29, of Sciota Avenue, Boardman, was charged with the crime after his partner alleged Williams had thrown an object, striking his head, during an argument regarding loud music. The victim had swelling above his right eye.

Feb. 16

Theft: Amy L. Hall, 24, of East Ravenwood Avenue, and 25-year-old Casandra N. Balestrino of East Boston Avenue, were charged. The two Youngstown women were accused of stealing $49 worth of merchandise, including an electronic organizer, from Walmart.

Theft by deception: A Deerfield man realized his credit card had been used deceptively to make fraudulent purchases at Big Lots, 7100 South Ave.

Theft: Jacie L. Palumbo, 31, of Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, was picked up on a felony-theft charge related to a Jan. 23 situation in which an employee with Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., had reported a purse and other items stolen. The loss was estimated at $800.
