Police arrest two in Struthers on drug, child-endangerment charges

City police arrested Ashley Miller of Youngstown on charges for deception to obtain dangerous drugs, drug possession and child endangerment.

Police apprehended her Thursday afternoon at the Hometown Pharmacy on Creed Street.

Michael Sunderman of Youngstown, who accompanied her, was charged with possession of marijuana, carrying a concealed weapon and child endangerment.

According to police reports, Miller attempted to illegally obtain Tramadol, a painkiller, at the pharmacy. The two had three children under age 6 present during the incident.

Police seized 308 dosage units of the prescription drug, suspected marijuana, a large pocket knife and more than $100. The matter is still under investigation, and additional charges may follow after review by the Mahoning County prosecutor’s office, police said.
