State picks 8 for new board

The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services has appointed eight people to the newly created Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery board.

Linda Warino and Kenneth Cooper, both of Canfield, and William Gambrel of Youngstown have been appointed to terms expiring June 30, 2017.

Appointed by the state to terms expiring June 30, 2018, are Eric Ungaro of Poland, Nomiki Tsarnas of Campbell and Ruth Mastriana of Canfield.

Appointed to terms expiring June 30, 2019, are Scott Fowler and Anne Lally, both of Canfield, the state announced Friday.

On Feb. 5, the Mahoning County commissioners appointed 10 other people to the new board, whose first meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the second floor auditorium of the Ohio One Building, 25 E. Boardman St.

The new, 18-member board is being created by the merger of the Mahoning County Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services boards.
