Ohio man arrested, indicted on murder charge in 1982 killing

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — A man in northwest Ohio has been arrested and indicted on a murder charge in the 1982 death of a Toledo woman.

Fifty-six-year-old Russell Adkins of Whitehouse was indicted Wednesday on the single murder charge in the killing of 19-year-old Dana Rosendale. He was arrested Thursday and remains in the Wood County Jail.

Rosendale was found on the road on Sept. 5, 1982 and later died at a hospital. She’d reportedly been with Adkins in his car before she was found. The original cause of death was undetermined.

The Blade in Toledo reports Adkins initially told police he found Rosendale in the road.

Investigators exhumed Rosendale’s body last year and ruled her death a homicide due to trauma to her head.

Court records list no attorney for Adkins.
