Miniature Bridge Building Competition at Youngstown State University

Teams from 18 Mahoning Valley high schools will try to build the best foot-long balsa-wood bridge next week at the eighth annual Miniature Bridge Building Competition at Youngstown State University.

The Feb. 27 event in YSU’s Kilcawley Center allows the students to compete, using their engineering and mathematical skills.

The event started in 2008 with the Mahoning and Trumbull county engineers working with YSU, ms consultants inc. and GPD Group to expose high school students to the civil engineering and civil engineering technology field.
