Domestic dispute

YOUNGSTOWN

A West Side woman claimed her brother held a knife to the neck of her girlfriend because he disapproved of their relationship.

Police were called to a home in the 2600 block of Roy Street about 3:35 p.m. Wednesday, where the 26-year-old sister told them she argued with her brother about her relationship, and her brother threw all the girlfriend’s property into the yard.

Reports said the brother then held a knife to the neck of the girlfriend. The sister tried to pull him off the girlfriend and suffered a mild stab wound. Reports did not say if she was treated. The brother fled before police arrived.

Chef indicted

WARREN

A Trumbull County grand jury indicted Daimer Cescon, former chef at the D’Vino Ristorante in Niles and intended chef at Hotel California in Austintown, on Thursday on three theft charges that could produce a prison sentence of more than seven years.

Cescon, 40, of Burning Tree Lane, Liberty, faces two counts of theft of a person in a protected class and one count of grand theft.

The charges stem from allegations he took diamond rings, other jewelry and electronic equipment last year from women age 67 and 65 in Kinsman Township and from a Liberty woman.

Boy found outside

WARREN

A woman on Meadowbrook Avenue Southeast called 911 Wednesday afternoon after spotting a 3-year-old boy in his backyard wearing only underwear.

The woman spotted the boy yelling for his father, walked over and found that he apparently had not been outside long because his body was not cold, only his feet.

She saw the boy’s twin sister inside the house and went inside calling for the parents, but no one answered.

The neighbor, who knew the children, put a robe on the boy and took both children to her house after leaving a note with her name on it saying what she had done.

When police arrived, the father was there frantically looking for the children and said he left them alone less than 10 minutes to get them dinner but that it was a bad decision. The children went home with their father, and Trumbull County Children Services was contacted to follow up.
