Talmer Bank issues fraud protection alert

YOUNGSTOWN

Troy, Mich.-based Talmer Bank and Trust issued a fraud protection alert to the public today.

The bank was made aware that customers and non-customers are receiving automated telephone calls regarding their debit cards. The notification informs the customer that the card is locked and advises “press 1” to continue to the Security Department.

The company said it values customer’s financial privacy and states that it would never contact in this manner and ask for a card number, PIN or security code.
