Power restored at YSU, university says

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University had a widespread power outage on campus at about 9:30 a.m. today but power was restored shortly before noon, the university announced.

Nearly a dozen buildings were without power. The power was restored at about 11:30 a.m. The cause of the outage was the failure of an electrical feeder line.

The outage occurred about 9 a.m. and affected DeBartolo, Cushwa, Jones, Smith, Moser and Ward-Beecher halls as well as the Lincoln and Phelps buildings, the Salata Complex and the Williamson College of Business Adminisitration.

The university is open and classes haven’t been canceled.

Students took to social media, complaining about classes in buildings without heat when the temperature is so low.
