WASHINGTON
Former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, who is raising money for a 2016 U.S. Senate bid, has resigned as president of the Center for American Progress Action Fund.
Strickland, a Democrat, left the left-leaning organization Friday as he prepares his campaign for the Senate seat held by Republican Rob Portman, who’s up for re-election next year.
The Vindicator exclusively reported Tuesday that Strickland started raising money Monday for his campaign, asking donors to write checks to “Strickland for Senate.”
Stabbed, arrested
YOUNGSTOWN
Police arrested a man on a charge of domestic violence after he was stabbed in the hand about 9:20 a.m. Monday in a Neilson Avenue home.
Reports said police were called to the home and found 28-year-old Brian McCullough bleeding from his hand, and a woman inside. The woman said the two were arguing when McCullough slapped her and threw her to the ground while she tried to run away.
The woman had a knife and wedged herself between the stove and refrigerator and held the knife up to protect herself. Reports said the woman told police McCullough grabbed at the knife, and that’s when he was stabbed.
McCullough admitted grabbing the knife and arguing, reports said. He was taken to the Mahoning County jail.
