Boardman man pleads guilty to 2013 pizza shop robbery

YOUNGSTOWN — A 20-year-old Boardman man pleaded guilty today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to charges of robbery and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer for the December 2013 robbery of a Boardman pizza shop and chase.

Matthew Koziorynsky of Cook Avenue will be sentenced at a later date by Judge Maureen Sweeney. He pleaded guilty to the Dec. 3, 2013, robbery of Marco’s Pizza on Midlothian Boulevard.

Reports said an officer responded to the robbery call and saw Koziorynsky driving away and tried to pull him over. He did not stop, however, and led police on a chase until he crashed into a utility pole on Market Street in Boardman.
