WARREN

A 39-year-old man faces charges of felony breaking and entering in one court and felony and misdemeanor drug charges in another court after being accused of a theft at his former employer’s store in Kinsman.

An employee of Main Street Convenient in Kinsman met a deputy with the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office at the store at 12:35 a.m. Friday and discovered that about $600 in cash had been stolen.

The employee reviewed surveillance video and identified John C. Jefferson of Route 7 in Kinsman and James Drive in Vienna as the person in the video carrying two cash drawers.

Warren police tracked Jefferson down in a vehicle at the corner of Blair Avenue Northwest and Idlewild Street in Warren, and he was in possession of crack cocaine and wearing the same clothing as seen in the store video, police said.

He pleaded not guilty in Warren Municipal Court on Friday to felony drug possession and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and remains in the Trumbull County jail in lieu of $1,500 bond.

The website for Eastern District Court in Brookfield says Jefferson was charged Friday with breaking and entering, but doesn’t list a court date.
