SOMERSET, Pa.
A collision between a school bus and a van in western Pennsylvania sent several students to the hospital, but an official says they didn’t appear to be seriously injured.
State police in Somerset County said the van apparently went out of control and crossed into the path of a school bus that was carrying 13 students about 7:30 a.m. Monday.
The driver of the vehicle was flown by helicopter to a hospital, and the bus driver was also taken to a nearby hospital.
Three students were taken from the scene by ambulance and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review says two more were taken to the hospital by their parents.
Trooper John Matchik told the newspaper that the children’s injuries didn’t appear too serious.
Police said the crash remains under investigation.
