CASINO NIGHTS

Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road, NE, Warren, will host its winter Casino Night & Texas Hold ’em on Feb. 28 at the parish’s Covelli Gymnasium. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the Hold ’em begins at 5:30. Early registration is under way at the parish office. A $50 buy-in receives $1,300 in chips. Registrations received by 5 p.m. Feb. 26 will receive an additional $500 in chips. The evening also will feature blackjack, poker tables, raffles, food and beverages. Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, Warren, will sponsor a craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 7. Admission and parking are free. There will be more than 50 crafters and vendors to showcase their unique items and products. There will be baked goods, soy candles, florals, soaps, St. Patrick’s and spring creations, cornhole boards, jewelry, embroidered and crocheted items, handcrafted cards, Miche purses, hair bows, scarves, T-shirts, photo prints, Rada, 31-bags, Scentsy, Lia Sophia, Pampered Chef and more. A basket auction will take place. Hot food also will be available.

RAFFLES

Boardman Lions Club is planning a fundraiser, Night at the Races, for March 7 at the Operating Engineers Hall, 291 McClurg Road, Boardman. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and food will be served. Admission is $10, which includes food, pop, water and beer. There will be a 50-50 raffle, gift card tree, basket raffles and a silent auction. Tickets will be available at the door.

St. Stephen Church in Niles will sponsor its annual Luck of the Irish reverse raffle and fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. March 7 at Ciminero’s Banquet Center, 123 N. Main St., Niles. Tickets cost $50 and include dinner and an entry into the reverse raffle, which has a prize of $1,500. Also featured will be an open bar, basket raffle, silent and live auctions, games and prizes. Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothes for the entire family. The sale for February will be on any clothing with red in it and 50 percent off to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays.

Salem Public Library Memorial Fund Association will sponsor a used book sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 7 in St. Paul School gym, 925 E. State St., Salem. Books for all ages along with DVDs, audiobooks, magazines and more will be available. For information, call the library at 330-332-0042

St. Vincent de Paul Society of Mahoning County will sponsor a Winter Wonderland Annual Benefit Gala on Feb. 28 at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center in Boardman. Hors d’oeuvres will be served at 6 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner at 7. There will be a cash bar. Cost is $50. The grand prize will be $1,000; second prize, $500; and third, $250. Salem Community Center, Salem Rotary and Kiwanis clubs will sponsor a Fat Tuesday celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday to benefit the Salem Community Pantry. Heartland Christian School has announced its 18th annual auction at 10 a.m. March 21. A silent auction and 50-50 raffle will also be taking place. Items available for bid include vacation packages, theme park, event and attraction tickets as well as hot air balloon rides, gift cards, gift baskets and a central air conditioning unit. Auctioneer Jim Kellner will be conducting the live auction, which is historically the school’s largest fundraiser. A preview day will take place at the school March 20 from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Attendees can view the merchandise and pre-register.
