GATES MILL

222Seventeen inches of fresh-packed snow a few days before in Gates Mills, Ohio, at the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club, made for ideal conditions for cutters — a lightweight, open, horse-drawn sleigh — and even farm-type bobsleds for multiple riders.

More than 100 visitors watched, and some got to take a ride back into the early 1920s when horses and sleighs were among the few options for winter transportation.
