Jillian Leigh Rebel, 40, of Volant, Pa., died in a car crash on Interstate 80 Friday afternoon. A Pennsylvania State Police news release said Rebel was traveling in the left lane of I-80 east, lost control of her car and went into the median. Her 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser rolled about four times. She was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Mercer County coroner, who ruled she died from blunt-force trauma.

Chase Bank in Canfield robbed

CANFIELD

A bank was robbed Saturday afternoon in the city by a man with a gun. Canfield police say a man robbed Chase Bank, 34 N. Broad St., at about 1:11 p.m. The suspect is described as a black male, 30 to 40 years old with a medium build and between 5 feet 9 inches and 6-feet tall. He was wearing a hat, sunglasses and a tan jacket during the incident, a release said. The man approached the counter, brandished a hand gun and gave a teller a note demanding money. After the money was taken, the suspect left the bank in a white Chevrolet Malibu. The Youngstown Federal Bureau of Investigation office and the Canfield Critical Incident Response Team responded to the bank Saturday. Jameson Health System has launched a new program, MyPath, to connect certified registered dietitians at Jameson Hospital with individuals to guide them through their weight-loss journey by regularly monitoring and engaging in their daily food choices and exercise patterns. MyPath registered dietitians are offering a free education seminar at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday at the hospital, fourth floor, 1211 Wilmington Ave., to explain the program and provide a tutorial on using the mobile smartphone application component.
