First United Methodist Church was the setting when Megan Elizabeth Deichler of Lisbon and Thomas L. McNear of Negley exchanged wedding vows Aug. 24, 2014.

Dr. Richard Parks and the Rev. Tina Gallaher officiated at the 3:30 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at Salem Golf Club.

Parents of the bride are John and Carol Deichler of Lisbon. The groom is the son of Sam Alexander of Negley and Valerie Alexander of Beaver Falls, Pa.

The bride’s ivory strapless ball gown featured a sweetheart neckline, a beaded wrap-over bodice, a ruffled skirt, a lace-up back and a cathedral train.

Honor attendants were Meredith Deichler, sister of the bride, and Lindsey Laret. Bridesmaids were Courtney Currin and Jamie and Erika Alexander, sisters of the groom. Junior bridesmaid was Hannah Searight, the groom’s niece, and honorary bridesmaid was Ashley McNear, sister-in-law of the groom. Attendants wore cloudy blue and ivory dresses.

Serving as flower girls were Kiera and Sydney McNear, nieces of the groom.

Participating as the groom’s best men were Brad and Jessie McNear, his brothers. Groomsmen were Rickie Gillin and Buddy Hartge, and junior groomsman was Logan McNear, the groom’s nephew. Brady McNear, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.

The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in education and from Arkansas State University with a master’s degree in education. She is employed as a high school math teacher in East Palestine City Schools.

The groom completed an associate degree in electrical technology from New Castle School of Trades. He is employed as a T and D mobile worker for Duquesne Light in Pittsburgh.
