Submit info for Holy Week, Easter

The Vindicator will run a listing of area services that are open to the public in observance of Palm Sunday, March 29; Holy Thursday, April 2; Good Friday, April 3; Holy Saturday, April 4; and Easter, April 5.

The deadline to submit information is 5 p.m. March 25. Publication will be March 28.

Information should include the denomination and name of the church, address, city or suburb, the day, time, type of service, your name and a phone number for verification.

Christian music fest set in Hermitage

HERMITAGE, PA.

Christian Associates will sponsor a Christian music fest at 3:30 p.m. March 1 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 159 Todd Ave.

Parking and handicap access available.

All churches are invited to participate by sharing one selection. The selection can be anything musical by a choir, a group, a solo or an instrumental selection.

Spirituality Day

The Benedictine Sisters of the Byzantine Church at Queen of Heaven Monastery, 169 Kenmore Ave. NE, will offer a Day of Spirituality from 1 to 4:30 p.m. March 7 at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Center, 180 Belvedere Ave. NE.

The presenter will be the Rev. Robert Pipta, rector of the Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Pittsburgh.

His topic will be “Friendship with God through Worship, Stewardship and Fellowship.”

There will be time for reflection, questions and refreshments, and an opportunity to receive the Mystery (Sacrament) of Reconciliation.

Participants may pray Vespers with the sisters.

Prayer writing

St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., will present a Prayer Writing Workshop, A Lenten Discipline, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 21 with the Rev. Rosalind Hughes.

Hughes graduated from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, and Bexley Hall Episcopal Seminary in Columbus, and was ordained a deacon in June 2011, and a priest in January 2012.
