Ambassadors for Christ plans 16th annual Lenten services

Ambassadors for Christ will sponsor its 16th annual ecumenical services for Lent.

All services are from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at host churches. All are welcome.

Ambassadors for Christ is an organization of East Side congregations that brings together people of different religions and races who share a unifying bond of Christianity.

Ambassadors for Christ, organized in 2000, selected Lenten programs as a main event at member churches because they highlight the shared belief in Christ’s ministry. Its signature event is a cross walk on Good Friday.

The schedule follows.

Ash Wednesday, the Rev. Mildred Taylor speaking at St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Church, 854 Wilson Ave. There also will be distribution of ashes.

Feb. 25, Pastor Jack Pettis at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 328 S. Forest Ave.

March 4, Pastor George Wilkins at We Walk by Faith Bible Church, 1636 Himrod Ave.

March 11, Pastor Roney Tucker at St. James Church of God in Christ, 75 S. Prospect Ave.

March 18, The Rev. Joseph Rudjak at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 827 Wilson Ave.

March 25, Pastor George Moore at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 421 Covington St.
