Tri-county housing authorities get fed funds


The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded $1,956,597 to the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority, $1,722,688 to the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority, and $577,414 to the Columbiana Metropolitan Housing Authority for public-housing improvements.

The authorities may use the money for things such as roof replacements, plumbing and electrical upgrades, and asbestos and lead paint removal, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, announced today.
