Ex-champ Mancini gets own radio show
YOUNGSTOWN
Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, former lightweight boxing champion and Youngstown native, will host a weekly one-hour radio show on WKBN-570 AM beginning Thursday at 6 p.m. Future installments of the show, titled “The Boom Boom Room,” will also air in that time slot. The show will be simulcast on IHeart Radio-WKBN, which is available as a free download on ITunes.
Mancini will discuss a wide range of topics from both the boxing world and the entertainment industry.
Guests slated to speak with Mancini on the first show include actors Ed O’Neill and Mickey Rourke, who are both very knowledgeable about boxing.
Mancini said future guests will include boxing greats Sugar Ray Leonard, Larry Holmes, Tommy Hearns and Aaron Pryor, as well as comedian Gary Shandling and film director Peter Berg.
Boxing updates will be provided by Steve Kim of boxingscene.com and Dan Rafael of ESPN.
Aaron Lewis concert at the Harv
CHESTER, W.Va.
Country music star Aaron Lewis will come to the Harv auditorium at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort, W.Va. Route 2, on April 25 for an 8 p.m. concert.
Lewis’ country debut was 2011’s “Town Life,” which reached the top spot on the Billboard country chart. It was followed by “The Road.”
Tickets are general admission by section and start at $20, plus taxes and fees. Reserved seating is also available and is located in the first four center rows.
