NYO Property Group offers space for businesses

Businesses enjoy a sense of collaboration at the Urban Office Space.

NYO Property Group LLC provided the space located on the fourth floor of the 16 Wick Building on Wick Avenue downtown for new businesses that want to avoid the overhead costs, said Kristopher North of NYO during an open house Thursday evening.

The space offers 16 offices along with two conference rooms, kitchen, co-work space, and a reception area that tenants share. There now are 10 member companies with 11 offices occupied, North said.

Among the tenants are Jet Creative Productions, Platt Insurance Group Nationwide Insurance, CJ Green Tax Service, YOUnify Theatre Company and the Karzmer Insurance Agency.

“It’s a collaborative office space,” said Ellie Platt, the owner of Platt Insurance Group and co-organizer of the open house.

Platt Insurance was founded in 2011 and also has locations in Cortland and Poland. Platt said the company has many clients in the area and moved into the downtown office in December.

“We wanted to have a presence in downtown,” she said.

The Urban Office Space models what occurs in larger cities such as Chicago and New York.

“It’s very forward-thinking,” Platt said.

CJ Green, the owner of CJ Green Tax Service, said the space is a great opportunity to network, share ideas and build relationships.

“I like the collaborative feel of it,” she said.

The tenants also share accommodations such as Internet, printing and fax services, Green added.

The rent for office spaces ranges from $200 to $350 per month.

“There are several opportunities for new business,” North said.
