Jurors in a man’s murder trial have visited the Northeast Ohio property where the remains of his ex-girlfriend and their 5-year-old son were found.
Forty-one-year-old Daniel Tighe of Akron pleaded not guilty to charges including aggravated murder, abuse of a corpse, domestic violence and evidence tampering in Summit County. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
Tighe was arrested in the 2013 deaths of 31-year-old Wendy Ralston and their son, Peyton.
, after Ralston’s mother found human remains in woods near her daughter’s home.
The Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/17nMjmX ) reports jurors were taken to view the property in Tallmadge (TAL’-mihj) on Thursday before lawyers presented opening statements.
Tighe has remained in custody on $2 million bond, and his attorneys haven’t commented about their defense.
