It's official: Tim Ryan not running for US Senate

U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th, said he will not run for the U.S. Senate next year.

His statement read: "Today, after much thought and deliberation, I am announcing my decision not to run for the United States Senate in 2016. With my new and growing family, I feel now is the time to be close to home. I want to thank my family, friends and the countless Ohio leaders who shared their views and supported me while I made this important decision.

"It is an honor and privilege to serve the people of Ohio in the House of Representative and I look forward to continuing to use my position on the Appropriations Committee and the Budget Committee to increase investments in manufacturing, promote wellness in our health and food policies, and protect American jobs by fighting against unfair trade practices.”
