Twenty Holy Family Youth Ministry members and their families enjoyed a Youngstown Phantoms hockey game at the Covelli Centre on Jan. 10 for their Faith, Family and Friends Night.

The group had a great time at the game, in which the Phantoms beat the Green Bay Gamblers, 4-2.

The event came about due to the generosity of Holy Family Church parishioners Rodney and Connie Black. Connie Black mentioned that going to a Phantoms game would be a nice family outing for the Holy Family Youth Ministry and their families. Connie and Rodney Black have been hosting Phantoms players in their home for several years and due to their connection to the team were able to make arrangements for the youth ministry.

After the youth ministry members who wanted to go RSVP’d, everything was all set.

The youth ministry members presented thank you notes to the Blacks for helping to put the event together, which included free tickets to the game.

Holy Family Youth Ministry members and their families who went to the game said it was a wonderful idea to support our local hockey team. The parents said it was a nice opportunity to do something with their teenager and that it was a it was also a fun and exciting environment to build fellowship among the group.
